Paul Scherrer Institute

Pleasant news on the physics front. I tried to set up an account at the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland, which is probably the world’s premier facility for low energy muons, especially the ultra-low energy muons used in muon spin resonance experiments. I don’t need THAT low, but their other beamlines include a “muon on request” system where you ask for a muon and they deliver you exactly one. So civilized! Anyway, I was added to their database of physics research institutions as “Landman”, so the application process can continue, with my institutional affiliation being … myself. 🙂
